I drew that picture myself and then modified the design into a graph. I’ve included my drawing.

The Scarecrow Afghan is crocheted using the standard corner to corner (C2C) method of double crocheted blocks. You can also use this pattern for Tunisian crochet, mini c2c, cross stitch, or any other craft that utilizes a graph.

This is an intermediate level pattern that uses 9 different yarn colors. The graph is 80 blocks by 100 blocks and the finished blanket measures 56” (4’ 7”) Width x 74.5” (6’ 2”) Length. You can make a smaller blanket by using the mini C2C that uses half double crochets or you can opt to use a smaller weight yarn and a smaller hook, which will decrease the overall size of the blanket.

You will need size 4 medium weight yarn, an H/8 (5.00 mm) crochet hook and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

1. The main instructions (yarn used, hook size, abbreviated instructions for basic C2C.
2. The written line-by-line instructions. Here is a made up example:

BK - black
R - Red
G - Green

Row 6: R5, {BK}2, G7, R4.

This would mean that you would work 5 red blocks, switch to black and work 2 blocks, switch to green and work 7 blocks, and finally, switch to red again and work 4 blocks.

There is no border on the example blanket, but you are free to create one if you wish.
