Scaredy Cat Spooky Spider Sweater
The Scaredy Cat set-in sleeve sweater with NO intarsia. Simple applique pieces are knitted and sewn on to bring these amusing characters to life. A little duplicate stitch is worked from the chart provided.
This jumper really is as much fun to make as it is to wear.
The main sweater is worked flat in four pieces from the bottom up with a subtle stripe transition before the underarm. Then the right shoulder is seamed, the neckband is worked in 2x2 rib, and the left shoulder band is picked up and completed.
Simple applique pieces are knitted for the Cat and Spider and attached to the sweater. You can work the spider’s legs with knit or crochet, whichever you prefer. The moon and bats are added with duplicate stitch.
Pattern is sized to fit approx ages 1-9 years, chest 51-71 cm (20-31 in). It is knitted using DK weight yarn and is a great stash busting project. You can find full details in the chart below.
