The gauge given is approximate. Since all directions are based on inches, any yarn may be used that results in a desired fabric. The scarf, approximately 42 inches long is knit in 2 sections, and seamed in the center, as the Estonian Embrace Stitch is directional and all hugs should point up. Each side has a double knit rib section so that the scarf can be snugged around the neck.

The hat, knit here in two colors is knit flat and seamed. If circular is preferred, eliminate the two edge stitches.
