Scarfigan
This sweater’s concept comes from two pop-culture mainstays: the “Harry Potter” book series and subsequent movie adaptations, and the long-running BBC television series, “Doctor Who.” Both have their own distinctive knit scarf designs and fans around the world love to sport copycat scarves in support of their favorite characters.
As some of you may know, this pattern was originally developed (and released as “Fourth,” and “Colors,”) as a foolproof way to get young children to wear the scarf as intended without being given the chance to rip it off and throw it somewhere. After many requests for an adult version, I decided to expand the sizing for people of all ages. Some details have been adjusted to reflect knitter feedback and the differences in fit when the pattern was scaled up. Most notably, it is no longer a one-piece, drop-shoulder sweater, but a raglan-shaped, seamed version.* This provides much needed shoulder stability and prevents frustration stemming from too many active balls of yarn at once. I think you will really enjoy it!
If you have any questions, visit my Ravelry group, Stitchin’ with Scalzo, and post a question under the “Scarfigan” thread. I will do my best to provide assistance.

ERRATA (for PDFs downloaded before 6/22/18)
The “child” sizes need a quick update at the point where you need to increase your body stitches for the bottom ribbing (just above the “sleeves” header).
Here’s the new text for the increase row:
Increase row (RS): k2(7,2,10) / 10(14,11,10) / 11(9,11,17,13,17,19), ((asterisk)) kfb, k3 / 9(5,5,3) / 3, repeat from ((asterisk)) 15(15,19,17) / 7(13,15,25) / 27(31,35,35,43,47,51) more times, k0(3,0,6) / 4(6,7,6) / 7(5,7,13,9,13,15). You should end up with 82(90,102,106) / 102(118,130,146) / 158(174,198,210,242,270,294) sts.
