Scarlet Holiday Hat
Scarlet Holiday instructions include two options: (1) Without buttons, the brim is worked entirely in a faux-cable rib. (2) With buttons, three stitches on brim worked in stockinette creates a smooth surface between faux-cable rib pattern to sew buttons. Bottom-up construction; worked in the round from brim to crown. Option to shorten crown length. Written instructions, no chart. The yarn used was chosen for its drape. If substituting yarn, look for a yarn with drape, perhaps a wool/silk or a wool/alpaca blend. Hat can be made shorter and less floppy by working the crown approximately 1 inch/2.5 cm shorter.
