Scarrrrrf
Fabulous to knit; crossed knitting needles behind a lacework skull - pirate - gothic - fun! This is presented in the pattern in charted form and also in written instructions for those that don’t enjoy chart knitting.
This is really a small shawl or shawlette, but can be worn around the neck as a scarf (think pirate “Scarrrrrf”!). You can tie this around the waist also!
It would look great out of solid color yarn and the pattern would be more “in your face”. In the self-striping yarn the skulls are a little more obscure.
This is not a difficult lace pattern, but not for the absolute beginner. I am available for knitting help via e-mail. Specific directions are given for working the chart and the number of stitches you should have after each right side row is given, so if you need to rip at all, you can easily find your place in the pattern.
Working with the Crazy Zauberball is fascinating. It has good body for a fingering weight, the colors are changing enough to keep your interest in the project. It’s a nice wool blend. You’ll have some of the skein left over after making this shawlette.
