Scented Flower Cardi
The vibrant, rich pink of this cardi made me think of so many beautiful flowers, geraniums, impressive paeonys, roses, cosmos’, foxgloves … I was unable to pick one for naming my cardi and decided to name it “Scented Flower” as a tribute to them all.
This cardi is just perfect for strolling in the garden a cool summer evening - in fact I bring it anywhere as it is so versatile! Wear it open or with a broch, or make it with buttons if you prefer.
The knitting is fun with the repetetive pattern that’s easy to memorize, the different ribbing, the raglan, the collar… You first knit the body in the round, then sleeves, then you assemble all pieces for the raglanshaping. In the end you pick up st along the fronts to make the collar. No seaming is needed, expect for the tiny seem at the back of collar and under the arms.
I knitted the cardi in a beautiful blend of alpaca and silk, but I am sure it would be equally nice in a soft merino.
Please note Row 16/Body should be read … k146/166/190 st
