Schaumburg is a generous, crescent-shaped wrap. Initially worked in short rows to achieve the length, it is finished with a dramatic border worked in long rows along the outside edge.

I designed Schaumburg for Nashville’s Haus of Yarn in celebration of the Yarn Bus premiering at the 2014 Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Post-blocking dimensions: 67 inches (170.2 cm) along the inner curve and 18 inches (45.7 cm) wide.

Stitches used: chain, double crochet, double treble crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch, treble crochet.

Techniques used: changing colors and carrying the color not in use up the side.

I used two hanks each of two colors of Isager Spinni Wool 1. When I finished crocheting, I had 39g of vintage gold and 24g of charcoal blue remaining.

Charts--the charts included in this pattern are not crochet symbols charts. They are charts that keep track of row and stitch counts as the design develops.

Please send me a message if you have any questions about this design, or join our group, CrochetWorks. In the next few days, we will announce the beginning of a Schaumburg CAL.

Many thanks to Alivaz, and LoTaKi for testing Schaumburg.
