This pattern is for a decorative banner that would look great on the classroom door of your favorite science teacher! This would make a great back to school gift, or Christmas gift for anyone in your life who loves science. This pattern features an Erlenmeyer Flask, with a few bubbles floating around it. It is done in filet crochet, and is a great small pattern that can be made in just an hour or two.

If you are new to filet crochet, I’ve attached a youtube video on how to do filet crochet, especially the 3 dc squares as I’ve designed this one to be. It will help you learn how to read a chart, but I’ve also included written directions, in case you do not want to go back and forth with a graph. It is written in short hand, with X to represent a closed block, and an O to represent an open block. I’ve also included a youtube video on how to do the chainless foundation stitch which is an optional part of this pattern. I prefer it, but it’s optional. Lastly, I’ve included a video that shows you how to wrap yarn around the dowel rod if you prefer that than the crochet top edge as in the picture. I’ve done them both ways, and so I’m sharing both so you can pick what you prefer.

Please know that it takes a lot of time to make these patterns, so, understand that I’m ok with you selling the finished item made from this pattern. DO NOT sell the pattern, nor the chart, and do not share it feely with anyone as well. I am listing the pattern price very low so that it’s easier to just purchase it rather than share it with someone, and I hope that you all can respect this.

Lastly, check out my facebook page where I post new pattern releases, and any sales or freebies that I have. I also love to hear from you about what you’ve made from my patterns, and see pictures! Post if you have questions on there, or send a message to me, and I’m happy to help you work it out. Filet crochet is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!
