Scorpio
Mesh lace, garter stitch & picots work together to create a dramatic yet very wearable shawl. Scorpio is knitted on the bias, increasing outwards from the top right corner, to form a curved-edge asymmetric triangle shape.
Yarn
Approximately 570 yards/521 metres yards of fingering/4 ply yarn.
Shown in Wollmeise Pure (100% Merino Wool Fingering; 574 yards/525.0 metres per 5.3 ounces/150 grams).
Needles & Notions
US 5 / 3.5 mm circular needles, 30-42 inches/75-110 cm long; 2 stitch markers; tapestry needle; blocking equipment.
Gauge
20 stitches and 42 rows per 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.
Finished Measurements
Width/Wingspan 72 inches/183.5 cm; Depth 18 inches/46 cm after blocking.
