Scottsdale Faroese Shawl
This lace shawl begins at the neck and is designed with the shoulder shaping that all Faroese shawls have. The neck border continues down the shawl to create a beautiful seed stitch edging that continues down each side.
This pattern does not have any complicated stitches, but all right side rows are different and does require concentration due to the different rows. All wrong side rows are purl across the complete row. No sewing, seamless.
The pattern is not charted, but is fully written, with line by line written instructions.
Measurements:
Center back 20 1/2 inches.
Wingspan 60 inches.
About the time I began working on this design I was diagnosed with Stage 3A Breast Cancer. I worked through the design several times while undergoing treatment and this is the final design. I am happy to say I am now cancer free, so one of my test knitters is correct in calling this shawl a celebration of life.
