A pattern for the unofficial mascot of the fictional SCP Foundation, the monster that started it all, our dear SCP-173.

The finished piece resembles the simplified models used in many SCP video games available online. The piece is worked from head to feet in one piece except for arms. It measures about 9 inches tall when using the suggested hook, however any amigurumi sized hook is appropriate to finish the project.

Provided yardage is an estimation for the main body in beige. Small lengths in red, black, and green yarn of similar weight are needed for the face detailing as described in the written pattern, however it is possible to accomplish the face detailing with embroidery thread or felt. Arms pictured are made with little yardage in a darker brown. Safety eyes, as well as dark blue yarn for the creature’s back, are suggested but completely optional.
