Have some minimal pieces of scrap yarn lying about?
Why not make some decorative pieces of candy with it?

This pattern works for any gage, any size needles and pretty much any type of yarn. I used needle size 2.5mm. If you use bigger, the candy is going to be bigger.

You’ll need double-pointed needles as the pattern is knitted both flat and in the round. As well as using the I-cord technique.

You want to stuff it to get that round middle, but don’t want to use expensive stuffing? I used cheap cotton pads (meant for make-up removal and such). Just tear them up and make them nice and fluffy first.

OR do what jinxnit55 suggested and put catnip in it for your cats :)
