This pattern was designed to use up your sock weight scraps, specifically your different weight scraps. Use 2 fingering weight yarns with a contrast color in either a sport weight or a light fingering weight to create different size vertical stripes down your socks to resemble racing stripes. When you run out of a color, just add your next scrap and continue. Make matching socks…or not. Pair your wild variegated yarns with solid yarns…or be daring and just see what you pull out of the scrap heap. The shorties are small enough to use up little yards of leftovers and if they turn out being really monstrous, they will be hidden in shoes anyway.
