This pattern was a riff on my other Christmas beanie. I designed this one in 3 weights as part of a scrap yarn competition, so there are 3 weights available in my shop.

This one is worsted weight.
My Christmas one is DK weight.
And there is a bulky weight pattern coming soon.

For this pattern, you’ll need less than 2 oz of each of 3 colors of worsted weight yarn. You can use any scrap yarn you have.

The name came from a combination of using scrap yarn, and the Catherine wheel stitch - combine the two, and you get the “scrappy cathy” beanie.

This project is great for using up that leftover worsted weight scrap yarn. And it comes together quick, so it’s perfect for last minute Christmas gifts.
