Scrittori Stocking
When I was a kid, the holidays were pretty much a magical time. For months, my brother and I anticipated the joy of the season. On the afternoon of Thanksgiving day, we would drag out all the Christmas decor from the attic to decorate the house. Each year, I put up our family stockings on fireplace mantle. On Christmas morning we woke up to find our stockings stuffed with an annual selection of carefully curated toiletries (yes, toothpaste, chapstick, bubblebath, and dental floss) and an orange. As a child, I loved that my stocking was long, narrow and it was a stretch to reach to the end of the sock.
As I create new traditions with my own family, I want my babe to enjoy the simplicity and delight we experienced on Christmas morning. This year, I’ve designed a set of stockings based on the dimensions, proportions, and gauge of my own family’s stockings. The patterns feature Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Bundles with complementing skeins of Woolstok Yarn.
The Scrittori Stocking was inspired by the patterns found in early medieval illuminated manuscripts. The pattern features charts for five different colorways using Blue Sky Fiber’s Holiday Frost and Holiday Cheer Bundles.
