scrunchie bag
In this pattern, we’ll make a bag that’s super adjustable - it can be worn as a scrunchie shoulder bag, or a long crossbody. Who needs a Lemaire croissant when you can make your own !
This pattern was originally written for the Qing x Loupy mystery box Gloam Glow, but has been adapted to work with any DK yarns you’d like to use.
Details:
The bag is knitted with 5mm needles and two colours of DK yarn (at least 150m or 75g of each colour is recommended). A 2m length of paracord and a stopper is useful but optional (you can substitute a ribbon or length of yarn).
The piece is knit flat, then partially seamed to create a tubed handle and opening for the main compartment. The pattern is made using an alternating two row striping pattern. In the worked example, the yarns used are Qing Fibre A) Teddy, and B) Dashing Fingering and Melted Baby Suri held together, but you can substitute for any two DK yarns . The yarn is carried on the right-hand side. Around halfway through the piece, a 6-stitch I-cord edge will be added, to act as a tube to thread a cord through after finishing.
