A scrunchie is the perfect scrap yarn project and also a perfect palette cleanser. And as a result, you get gorgeous unique scrunchies, the perfect little accessory for every occasion!

This project is also the perfect beginner project, to start exploring the wonderful world of knitting! Even for kids! Start with a solid colour version if this is your first project.

In this collection you will find instructions to make a basic scrunchie in stockinette stitch (solid colour or 2 colours), and also 3 different colourwork versions, including a leopard version!

Measurements: measured before closing the scrunchie:
Width: approx  25 cm / 9.75 inches
Height: approx 9 cm / 3.5 inches

Needles:            
Circular needles 4 mm / cable 40 cm US 6 / cable length 16 inches    

Gauge: Worked with needles 4 mm:
10 x 10 cm = 20 sts x 27 rows

Suggested yarn: Scrap mohair, held double:
Solid colour version
+/- 15 g 

2 coloured version (including the colourwork versions with exception of the leopard version):
+/- 7.5 g             

Colourwork - leopard (2 colours): 
+/- 10 g silk mohair (Main colour)
+/- 5 g silk mohair (Contrasting colour) – dominant colour

Colourwork - leopard (3 colours):
