This pattern is for a free-standing sculptural crochet vase. It is worked in continuous rounds, and is available in UK and US crochet terms.

Your tension will need to be very tight to achieve a rigid effect.

I recommend using a full length metal hook with a comfortable grip handle (not half hook/half handle as these can snap under pressure).

The additional image shows an example of decoration for this vase, but is not included in the pattern.
