Sea Dog is a lightly felted semi-circular shawl with an integral lace border. It is knit with 2 lace weight yarns which when felted together create a soft, sumptuous fabric that plays with light. One yarn is silk, the other a wool blend. The silk yarn is used throughout the shawl, while different shades of the wool blend are worked in and out to create the fade effect. A silk lace border is added post-felting to pick up the shimmer of the silk in the felted fabric.

Complete instructions are provided for felting the shawl in a top loading washing machine.

The pattern is written for 2 sizes: Small and Large. The following blocked sizes do not include the 2” lace border:

Small: 15” deep x 54” along top edge
Large: 17” deep x 60” along top edge
