Sea or River Otter
Aren’t otters some of the cutest animals? The way they float on their backs and hold their lunches, and even their babies! They’re so playful and rambunctious too! So cute!
Here’s my version of an adorable sea otter. Enjoy!
Materials needed to make your own otters:
• Worsted weight yarn in brown, tan (less than one skein) and small bits of yellow and green for fish
• Black sport weight yarn or embroidery floss
• Carpet-weight black thread or other thin cord for whiskers
• 3mm crochet hook
• 9mm safety eyes
• 12mm safety nose
• Fiberfill
• Tapestry needle, straight pins, scissors, skewer
• Optional: Waterproof glue
The pattern is written for advanced beginner crocheters and beyond (mainly because of the type of terminology used). The advanced beginner is familiar with making amigurumi and understands basic amigurumi crochet terminology and stitches as well as how to sew pieces together, finish off, hide ends, etc.
