Sea Shanty Coaster
Introducing the Sea Shanty Coaster pattern, a practical addition to your crochet repertoire. This design draws inspiration from nautical themes, offering a stylish and functional way to protect your surfaces. Suitable for both beginners and experienced crocheters, the pattern features straightforward stitches that create a visually appealing texture. Whether for personal use or as a thoughtful gift, these coasters will enhance any coastal-inspired decor. Get ready to craft a timeless piece that combines utility with a touch of maritime charm.
This pattern is made in worsted weight yarn with a 4.5mm hook. I think a synthetic or plant fiber is best for a coaster, as you will want it to be easy care. This coaster is worked in the round in dc st. You work increases every rnd to get it to the proper size and the last round adds a festive edging that is fun to make. Gauge is not crucial in such a small piece.
This pattern is written for one size which should be a perfect fit for most mugs. If you find that it is too small/too large for your mug, I encourage you to experiment with another gauge or the number of rnds.
This is a beginner friendly pattern, it uses basic stitches and includes a photo tutorial at the end of the written instructions. There are also links to video tutorials for all the special techniques.
