This design for a crescent shaped shawl is inspired by the beautiful Cornish coastline and many happy hours spent there looking at shells and paddling in the cool clear waters on golden sands.

The version pictured is made with a sock weight yarn with gold sparkle in a warm semi-solid turquoise like sunlight dancing on shallow waters.

The shawl requires a single skein of sock weight yarn with 400m (437yds).

It has written instructions for the whole shawl and a chart for the lace border as well if you prefer that method. It only requires quite gentle blocking to bring out the beauty of it’s gentle curves.

This shawl is an easy and fast knit designed to be made from a single skein of yarn. The approximate dimensions when finished are 54” by 12” but the pattern can be easily adjusted but you may need more yarn.

I also thought this would be nice in a series of different colours for each layer of lace pattern repeat so you don’t need to go with just one colour.
