Sea Storm
Sea Storm is a reversible brioche and garter cowl. The brioche pattern creates the waves that carry over and through the garter center. The project is knitted in-the-round, starting with a provisional cast on to work the first brioche segment.
In this pattern, I introduce my newly created Twisted Brioche Cast-on method to provide a steady base to work the invisible cast-on in-the-round over a large number of stitches. A photo is included of the cast-on edge.
To bind-off, I used Vicki Twigg’s Single-Color-Ribbed bind off, which provides an excellent proximity to my twisted brioche cast on. Thank you Vicki for the fantastic bind-off.
Other techniques used in this pattern include: 2-color brioche, 2-color brioche increases and decreases, and garter.
This pattern requires 2 colors, sock or fingering weight yarn, approximately 400 yards for main color, and 200 yards for contrast color.
