Sea Unicorn
What is a narwhal if not a unicorn of the sea? If the horn fits…
This pattern is available in sizes all the way from 3 years, to adult so you can create an entire family of narwhals for all your loved ones. It uses increases, decreases, short rows, and a few other tricks that you’ll have to wait to find out to create its shape.
This pattern is written to be fully readable for all sock knitting types, whether that be circular needles, double pointed needles, magic loop… you name it! This pattern is also written with both metric and imperial measurements.
In children’s sizes, you will find instructions for a standard sock toe as well as the flippered, since children have an affinity to being accident prone. And since we adults aren’t immune to tripping, a standard sock toe is also available in the adult sizes. With a standard toe, these socks are wearable in shoes, but with a flippered toe, these socks are best worn as slipper socks.
The childrens’ sizes and adult sizes are in two separate PDFs, so that the size differentiations can be as clear as possible. The adult pattern is labelled, “Sea Unicorn,” and the child pattern is named, “Sea Unicorn Jr.”. The pattern name is included in the footer with page numbers to help you keep track.
Like with many of my patterns, gauge is not crucial, and some minor variation can be allowed. Just try to stick with the right weight yarn.
Please be sure to check out the test knits!! Some are posted here, but you can view more photos on Instagram, under #seaunicornsocks or #emmabermudezdesigns
