Sea Wave Cowl Scarf/Shawl
The finished product should be a circular mobius that covers the neck or can be pulled forward to fall forward around the neck creating a cowl look to be used over any shirt or sweater.
The pattern can be used to create a mobius shawl if adjusted to be wide enough to cover the shoulders.

Pattern repeats every 12 sts + 1( add 2 for foundation ch) Pattern can be done in a short(scarf) or long(shawl) version.
Hook Size: F or G, size to achieve gauge
Gauge: 2 Fans or waves = 6 inches
Size: Final Length = 36 inches long, and 16 inches wide (5 fans wide) for scarf or for a shawl; 38 inches long, width 19 inches (or necessary width of shoulders; 6 fans wide-12 stiches for each fan added to width) for wide scarf over the shoulders.
Special Stitches: 3 dc TOG, into stitch, yo, pull through, into next stitch, yo, pull through, into next stitch, yo, pull through, yo, pull through all loops on hook. 7, 4, and 2 versions are similar, worked over 7 or 4 or 2 stitches.
Start:
Ch 74, turn.
Row1: Work 3 dc TOG over 4th ch, 5th and 6th ch from hook, ch 1, 1tr in next ch, ch1} X2, 1 tr, ch1, 1trin next ch, ch1, 1tr in next chX2, ch1, 7dc TOG over next 7 ch, repeat from , ending with 4 dc TOG over last 4 ch, turn.
Row2: Ch 3, sk first group, 1 dc in ch1 sp, 1dc in tr, 1 dc in ch1 spx5, 1 dc in next tr, 2 dc TOG, inserting hook in next 2 ch sps (skipping top of group), repeat from, ending 2 dc TOG over last ch sp and top of last group, turn.
Row3: Ch 3, sk top of group, 3 dc TOG over next 3 dc, ch 1, 1 tr in next dc, ch 1x 2, 1 tr, ch1 , 1 tr in next dc, ch1, 1 tr in next dcX 2, ch1, 7 dc TOG over next 7 sts, repeat from, ending 4 dc TOG over last 4 trs , turn.
Row4 - 76: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 to length.
Finishing: Twist once and then sew with a tapestry needle the bottom of one side to the top of the other side and across the end or crochet the two ends together.
