SEA WHISPER is the result of a wonderful collaboration between myself and Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co in Northern Ireland. Sea Whisper is knit in Emma’s NEW no nylon, non-superwash sock yarn, Hearth Sock, a gorgeous mix of BFL and Jacob wools.

SEA WHISPER is a one skein, unisex, textured cowl, knit top down in the round, using Gansey-inspired stitches.
This funnel-like shaped cowl gives you extra warmth around the neck and shoulders, with its narrower top half keeping you snug as a bug!

Two sizes: Standard Fitting (Extra Loose Fitting)
Circumference at top half (measured on Section 2):
A: 54.5cm/ 21.75” (61.25cm/ 24.5”)
Circumference at bottom edge:
B: 81.25cm/ 32.5“ (88cm/ 35.25”)
C: Finished Height (both sizes): 33cm /13”

Measurements taken with relaxed fabric, not stretched, after a light steam blocking.

Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co, Hearth Sock, 100g (330m/ 360 yds, non-superwash, 50% Jacob, 50% BFL).
Sample knit in colourway: Undyed

Standard Fitting Size: 1 skein
Extra Loose Fitting Size: 1.1 skeins (110g/ 363m/ 396yds)
Please note for the larger size - you may have enough in 1 skein as 8g contingency has been added into these figures, however, it has not been tested in this size, and I recommend 2 skeins, otherwise good luck playing Yarn Chicken!

Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co, Natural Sock, 100g (400m/ 437 yds, non-superwash, 50% BFL, 50% Cheviot wool).

NEEDLES
3.5mm/ US 4 40cm/ 16” and 50cm/ 20” circular needles Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.

GAUGE
23.5 sts x 37 rnds = 10 x 10cm/ 4 x 4” based on Rnds 5 -20 of Section 2 pattern stitch in the round, with relaxed, lightly steam-blocked fabric.
