Seagull Gansey
Knit this casual sweater in-the-round on circular needles from the bottom up. This gansey style has paneled stitch patterns suggesting a seagull in flight, traditional Whitby Moss, a shallow boat neck and shaped gussets. The shoulders are bound off together, with the sleeves picked up and knit down in one piece to the garter stitch cuffs, with an optional untraditional open cuff finish and a new-fashioned picot bind off.
Pewter buttons enhance the neckline and mock cuffs.
Channel Island cast on and welts complete the traditional look
