Seagull Shawl is a relatively easy colorwork shawl that uses only one color of yarn per row. What a great way to use those mini-skein gradient sets!

Mosaic (slip stitch) is fun and easy as colorwork goes, given that only one color of yarn is used at any time. The solid bands are worked in simple garter, lace and texture stitches and the Mosaic sections are perfect for a gradient yarn.

Seagulls swooping and frolicking on the beach and over the ocean inspired the design for this shawl. The lace, texture and colorwork designs in this shawl each represent Seagulls in flight.

The Seagull Shawl is offered in two sizes and has a bit of easy lace, a unique textured stitch pattern, and easy slip stitch colorwork with bands of garter stitch framing each panel. The Mosaic section is perfect for a gradient yarn!

The shawl is worked top-down, seamless and triangular and the instructions are both charted and written. Mosaic (slip stitch) is fun and relatively easy as colorwork goes, given that only one color of yarn is used per row.

Sweet Georgia has set up yarn kits for the Seagull Shawl! Check them out here.

Contrasting colors and a smooth yarn are recommended for the Mosaic colorwork to be vibrant and visible.

See this wonderful tutorial by Felicia at Sweet Georgia Yarns for working Mosaic colorwork using one of my shawl patterns.

The instructions are written and charted, and the pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.
