SEAHORSE FANTASY APPLIQUES & WALL HANGING

I am happy to share this delightful Seahorse Applique-Wall hanging. The pattern includes a Large Seahorse, Small Seahorse, 3 Seaweed sizes along with instructions to make an ‘Under the Sea’ Wall Hanging.

The appliques can be used alone or attached to any item such as a blanket, towel, purse, sweater, pillow or a wall hanging. They can be made smaller or larger just by using a different yarn weight.

SKILLS

This is crochet pattern suitable for the intermediate or advanced beginner. Detailed step by step photo tutorials are included so anyone can be successful in making the appliques and the wall hanging.
The appliques are crocheted as one piece joining different colors of yarn.

The techniques used in the pattern include single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, slip stitch, slip stitch join, changing yarn colors, working in the back loop, magic ring, working in the round, half double crochet 3 together decrease (hdc3tog), double crochet 3 together decrease (dc3tog), attaching appliques with yarn needle.

Wall hanging: making and attaching beaded tassels, attaching to a dowel.

YARN

Appliques: Any cotton or acrylic yarn can be used.
Lily Sugar n’ Cream, Drops Paris, Bernat Premium, Loops & Thread Impeccable, Patons Canadian were use for the Seahorse samples.
Scheepjes Catona was used for the Seaweed samples.

Wall Hanging: Any yarn fiber can be used for the wall hanging. I used Bernat Premium and Loops & Threads Impeccable acrylic yarns.

FINISHED SIZES

Large Seahorse: 10.5 in x 4 in (26.67 cm x 10.16 cm)
Small Seahorse: 6.5 in x 3 in (16.51 cm x 7.62 cm)
Seaweed: 7 in (17.78 cm), 5 in (12.70 cm), 3 in (7.62 cm) long
Wall Hanging without tassels: 13 in x 11.5 in (33.02 cm x 29.21 cm) Tassels are about 6 in (15.24 cm) long
