Seamless Baby Platform Shoes
I love the fact that this whole bootie is knit with one unbroken strand of yarn. If, however, one would want a different colored sole, you could do that by switching yarns at the sole.
I am not really proficient at writing designs. If there are errors, or something doesn’t make sense, let me know.
The depth of the shoe could easily be changed by decreasing the number of garter stitch rows. And using finer yarn and smaller needles would make the bootie fit a smaller foot.
Overall, I really like this design, which is different in look than anything I have seen around. The finished bootie looks like those LL Bean waterproof boots. It makes me wonder what the bootie would be like knit in wool and then felted.
A thanks goes to Lara Neel, whose technique I used to close the toe of the bootie without a square toe.
right-slanting make one with knit increase: pick up the horizontal strand between the sts on the left and right needles with your left needle from back to front and place onto the left needle. Insert the right needle into the front of the strand and knit it.
left-slanting make one with knit increase: Same as above, except pick up horizontal strand from front to back and place on left needle. Insert right needle into the back of the loop and knit it.
