The Extended Cowl Top top is made using dc and chain stitches, which combined create shells and V-stitches. It can be worn with the cowl at the top (and of course you can make it longer, so it can go over your head), or turned upside-down over your arms. The cowl is seamless, so you do not have to worry about sawing anything together - just makes life easier :)

To make this top, I used basic (saver) DK yarn, so if you use nice quality yarn, choose a pattern for a smaller size or you will end up with oversized item.
