This repeatable motif was designed to make a blanket but would also make a great scarf! Choose your team colors or add them in afterwards as a border or an iron-on decal.

Yarn weight and hook size can easily be adjusted, just keep in mind your finished project will use a different amount of yarn and be a different finished size.

You will receive one file for interlocking crochet:

• the full written line-by-line pattern
• chart reading instructions
• a chart

And one file for overlay mosaic crochet:

• the full written line-by-line pattern
• instructions for an optional envelope border
• chart reading instructions
• an X-marked chart

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). For Interlocking Crochet

• Crochet hook: 4.5 mm (US7)
• Gauge: 16 (dc, ch) x 8 rows in one color = 4” square
• Chart size 39 x 95, repeatable area 32 x 88
• FOR SINGLE REPEAT:
  • 8” x 22” / 20cm x 56cm
  • Worsted Weight Yarn (350 - 400 yards PER REPEAT)
    • Main Color (MC) football – 185 yards
    • Accent Color (AC) background – 165 yards
    • Plus 50 yards for optional SC border

For Mosaic Crochet

• Crochet hook: 5 mm (H-8)
• Gauge: 14 sc in BLO x 15 rows = 4” square
• Chart is 33 x 91, repeatable area is 32 x 88
• FOR SINGLE REPEAT:
  • 8” x 22” / 20cm x 56cm
  • Worsted Weight Yarn (305 yards PER REPEAT)
    • Main Color (MC) footballs – 175 yards
    • Contrasting Color (CC) background – 130 yards
    • Envelope border optional
