A simple linen stitch (sc, ch1) is worked in the round to create a square block. Colors are carried and color changes are done in a corner, so there are minimal loose ends and no obvious seam or bump in the work from joining. While I used two colors of DK yarn and a size G hook, feel free to use as many colors as you want in whatever weight and size hook you’d like.

Techniques you should know for this pattern:

  • Single crochet, aka “sc”
  • Chain stitch, aka “ch”
  • Slip stitch, aka “sl st”
  • Changing colors when crocheting

This pattern was inspired by my mother’s love of linen stitch and working in the round and her hatred of weaving in ends. Love ya, Mom!
