Choosing the right YARN and HOOK to achieve great results

I recommend to take 100 % rayon (or bamboo, tencel, soya, silk) 500 m in 100 gr (547 yds in 3.5 oz). It equals to 3 ply (UK, AU), light fingering or Lace (US), 0 (standard yarn weight system).
Examples: tencel prism-delicato-layers, silk hasegawa-camellia.

If you have thin cotton thread number 10 try to crochet a swatch with it, see that the width of 28 double crochet stitches is 10 cm/4’’. The length is less important because you can always add more rows of the pattern. Then it will be a good cotton equivalent - durable and not stretchy. Your project will be draping like this skirt.
