Designed in the service of The Little Yellow Duck Project, because you can never have too many little yellow duck patterns. This one came about because my least favourite things in knitting – seaming and purling – are specifically not required.
You will need to do a circular cast-on, knitting in the round, and grafting (kitchener stitch), or a three-needle bind-off. The duck is knit all in one piece, from the bottom up, decreasing along the wings, to the neck, before increasing again for the head and decreasing along the line of the beak.
It can be knit to any gauge, and only takes a few yards, and about an oz of yarn.
