This is an 11 page pdf file of pattern instructions to make this pretty sun hat in one or two colors. The pattern for the multicolored scarf is also included in this file. You can make up this scarf or you can use a fabric scarf as another option. Unlike straw hats you can roll this one up and put it in your bag. When you take it out it can be shaped by hand as in the photos.

The pattern includes hat sizes from Toddler to Large Adult.

Yarn: The ecru and mint hat is made with worsted weight cotton yarn for the hat and the trim. The white and green hat is made with worsted weight yarn for the hat and crochet thread weight #5 for the trim. The crocheted hat scarf is made with crochet thread size #5.

Hat Dimensions:
Toddler (2-3):
15” Inner brim diameter
8 1/2 “ from top to brim edge
Child (4-8):
18” Inner brim diameter
9 3/4 “ from top to brim edge

Older children should fit one of the two adult sizes:

Small Adult:
21” Inner brim diameter
11” from top to brim edge
Large Adult:
24” Inner brim diameter
11 1/4” from top to brim edge

All patterns are written using US crochet standard terms.
