Seaside Demi Blouse
This sweater is a go-to basic that you can customize so easily by changing the type of ribbon and how much you choose to gather the neckline, waist and cuffs. Simple one-piece construction and circular knitting means that there are no seams to sew, for super-quick finishing. And don’t let the fine-gauge yarn scare you- it is knit to a looser gauge to give you a whisper-light fabric that will be perfect for summer evenings at the beach.
A yarn with some loft or bounce is a wise choice for this project. A slinky or drapy yarn will tend to stretch lengthwise and not hold its shape as well when knitted loosely. The Taiyo Sock, though mostly cotton and silk, filled out nicely when washed, but I would be wary of pure silks or rayons for this one.
Because the sweater is knit from the top down, it is easy to customize for the sleeve and body lengths that work for you. Of course, this will change your yarn amounts.
