This casual triangular shawl knits up very quickly. The simple yet playful pattern is easy to memorize. As little counting or pattern reading is involved this project is ideal for carrying with you. At the same time it has just enough variation not to become boring.

The yarn I’ve chosen is one of Katia’s favourites of the 2014 collection, a soft multicolour cotton with a casual look and feel. Many other types of fingering, sport or DK yarn are suitable too, you may even consider using leftovers for a striped version.

As the shawl is knitted sideways, you can decide on the go how big you want it to be or just knit until you finish up your yarn. The indicated amount of yarn will provide a shawl that is large enough to cover your shoulders and back. Use 40% less for a neckerchief.
