It’s the perfect knitting for those times where you need some easy knitting to accompany your movie-watching or audiobook-listening. If you’re a beginning knitter, this pattern is a great introduction to shawl knitting: there may be a couple of new-to-you techniques, but you should get along just fine! If you’re an experienced knitter, you’ll find this to be just the right blend of interesting and soothing work.

What yarn do you need to knit this shawl?

  • 1 skein of a main color (I used fingering weight)
  • 12 coordinating colors (I used about 50g (2 oz) of each) (I used sport weight)
  • Go wild with color—use some of the single skeins or remnants of other projects that have been hanging around in your stash!

If you want to make a Seasons Shawl exactly like mine, I used: 1 skein Wild in the Woods Wild Wool Fingering Weight undyed & 1 skein each Farmer’s Daughter Recollect Sport Weight (185yd/2oz) of the following colors:
Color 1: Sunny’s
Color 2: Porch Pumpkin
Color 3: Eagle Eye
Color 4: Pine Drop
Color 5: I’ve Got Dreams to Remember
Color 6: Ranch Romance
Color 7: Sinopah
Color 8: Willow Creek
Color 9: J. Rankin
Color 10: Dumplin’
Color 11: Chinook Winds
