This is a large bandana style cowl. Even though the blocks of color look fantastic, it is very simple to knit with short rows in garter stitch, you won’t even need to pick up the wraps!

Size: one

Finished measurements: 26” (66cm) around the top, 10” (25cm) back seam and 25” (63cm) at deepest point.

Materials:

Yarn: Main color: 450 yards (411m) of DK weight yarn. Contrasting color: 175 yards (160m) of DK weight yarn. Samples use Bridle Trails DK from Dyehouse yarns by Serial Knitters. Neutral sample uses 2 skeins of colorway Seattle Sky and 1 skein in Panther. Greens sample uses 2 skeins in colorway Field of Daffodils OOAK and 1 in Sunshine.

Recommended needle size: US #8 (5mm) circular needle, at least 20” (50cm) long. A circular needle is not necessary, but it will hold the weight of the cowl better as it grows.

Notions: Yarn needle for weaving in ends and seaming. Three stitch markers. Optionally, one locking stitch marker to mark the RS.

Gauge: 19 sts and 19 ridges = 4 inches (10cm) square in garter st, after blocking.
