This lightweight top is ideal for spring and summer—its pretty lace detail alludes to beach holidays, ocean breezes and frothy sea waves. This is a feminine, relaxed, and casual sweater, to be worn equally well with a dress, pretty skirt, or your favorite shorts. Most of the knitting is easy, with a combination of stockinette and reverse stockinette as the main pattern.
Worked in one piece starting with a provisional cast on at the underarms, the top features the classic Seawaves Stitch on the sleeves, highlighting the curve of the shoulders. There are two option lengths for sleeves, long and three quarters.
The neck opening is obtained by a simple bind-off followed by a cast on. After working the other side from top to the underarms, the rest of the body is worked top down in the round, using the provisional cast on stitches and the live stitches from the other end.

Recommended yarn
Due to a relatively simple construction, row gauge is not essential, as one needs to complete a certain amount of cm/“ for each section, not rows/rounds. Stitch gauge is very important as that will determine length of sleeves. Yarn choice should be determined by composition, with a focus on fibres with drape and stitch definition, like silk, cotton, linen, merino or blends of these.
