Sebille Shawl
Knit Sebille Shawl in neat sections, divided by lateral braids and faux seams!
This design is based around sport- to dk-weight handspun yarn, but commercially-available yarns such as Malabrigo Arroyo would be a good alternative. For a similar self-striping look, Noro Silk Garden Sock would work. A more solid or tonal colorway may show off the textures and braids a little better than a more aggressive self-striping yarn like the one I used, frankly.
Materials:
- About 360-480 yards of sport- to dk-weight yarn, such as Malabrigo Yarn Arroyo
- 1 24”+ circular needle in US 6/4.0mm, or size needed for gauge
- Removable stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Gauge:
Gauge is 18 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat & blocked. Please be sure to check your gauge.
This is an easy-to-mod pattern, and you could knit it in sockweight yarn instead. It’s also easy to increase the size of it by adding pattern repeats. Do with this information what you will.
Measurements:
As shown, this shawl measures about 51”/130cm across the wingspan and 23”/58cm deep.
