Second Hand News Mosaic Scarf
This jumbo scarf uses slip stitch/mosaic colour work, where only one colour of yarn is used at a time. It would be a great first pattern to try this technique.
The pattern includes instructions for an i-cord edge/selvedge, which creates a lovely plush finished edge. This step is optional and can be skipped or replaced with your preferred edge!
Yarn:
Worsted or Aran weight yarn (yarn weight 4) in two colours, approximately 250m/275 yards of each colour, though the length is easily adjusted. Sample shown in Red Heart with Love in Tan and Aran.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required. Sample is 16 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in Garter stitch.
Needles:
US 9 - 5.5 mm
Finished Dimensions:
71”/180cm long by 10”/25.5cm wide.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
