This square has two unusual techniques. The first is in working the large shell that forms the base of the heart. to make the point pointy, first a Double Triple crochet in made into the foundation chain. The subsequent triple crochet stitches are made into the base of that first longer stitch. To make a dbtr, wrap the yarn around the hook 3 times. Finish as a triple crochet with one extra set of 4 loops.
To make the next 4 triples, wrap your yarn over the hook three times Poke your hook into the base of the Dbtr, and finish as usual.
The 3 dimensional flower is made similar to a crocodile stitch, by working the double crochet petals over the bars of the dc stitches.
