Secret Garden Shawl
Nothing says indulgence more than a beautiful, flowing scarf. Our Secret Garden Shawl was inspired by our gardener friends and the beautiful gardens in this area. Knit it with two of our hand dyed semi-solid Rosario Sport yarns or a combination including a Medley. What is more fun than color, pattern and texture?
Yarn: 2 skeins Fidalgo Artisan Yarn’s Rosario Sport (Superwash Merino, 100g = 342 yds) 1 skein main color (MC) and 1 skein contrast color (CC) or equivalent sport weight yarns. You can also substitute a Medley Sport for one of the yarns.
Needles and Notions: US 5 (4mm) 24-inch circular needle or size to obtain gauge, 50-4mm cube beads (if desired), stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches in garter stitch when blocked
Finished Blocked Measurement: 52 inches long x 26 inches at the wide end
Pattern Notes:
• Secret Garden Shawl is knit in 4 sections, each one ending with one or more lace panels.
• When changing colors, you can either cut and weave in the unworked yarn or you can carry the unworked yarn up the edge on RS rows as follows: bring working color under unworked color then slip the first stitch as instructed. When changing colors, pick up new color from below and bring it over the top of unworked yarn.
• The first stitch in every row is slipped knitwise.
• The stitches shown inside the red box on the chart are repeated.
• The lace stitch used in this pattern is a very simple two-row, 12 stitch lace repeat. Even though there are three lace charts, the only difference is the number of stitches at the start of the row.
