Secret Identity Cowl
This super-stretchy cowl is fun to knit and fun to wear! The masks are formed by working short-rows. Knit with 2 colors of fingering weight yarn or using your stash of leftovers. And it has it’s own secret: work an I-cord, thread it through the masks to convert it into a slouchy hat!
The cowl also coordinates with the Secret Identity Mitts and the Secret Identity Hat which has more traditional crown decreases.
Most super heroes and villains have dual identities. Some wear a mask, like Batman, Green Arrow, or Captain America. Some wear glasses in their “mild-mannered” identities, like Clark Kent and Diana Prince.
Want a smaller size for a junior super hero or a little bigger? Go down or up a needle size. As shown, the cowl required about 215yds of the main color and 125yds of the contrast color. More specific yarn requirements are provided for those wishing to use leftover stash.
This pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited.
