Ho-ho-ho, are you getting ready for Christmas?
Here is a new pattern for you. It combines our love for Santa and Scandinavian gnomes and this naughty Santa Gnome has a secret!
This is an easy pattern suitable for beginners. It requires a very basic felting skills. However an alternative to felting is provided in the pattern.
It’s designed to hold 500cl gin bottle. The pattern also provides a guide on how to adjust the finished item to suit your needs (bigger or smaller bottle)
The pattern is designed using Sheepjes Colour Crafter DK yarn. You can use any DK yarn, however some yarn is thicker/thinner than others. Go for yarn with 300 meters in 100g.
Materials you will need:
- DK Yarn (100g – 300m) in
Red (approximately 50g), White (approximately 15-20g) Neutral (skin tone ) for the nose (approximately 10-15g) - 2-3 meters of white chenille yarn. Some craft store sell small quantities. James C Brett Flutterby is my favourite. If you don’t have/don’t want to buy chenille yarn you can use crab stitch to finish off mittens and the hat
- Felting Yarn for the beard If you don’t have felting yarn I’ll show you how to create gnome’s beards with brushed yarn
- Hook size 3.5mm
- Felting needle
- Toy stuffing
- Marker. I use an offcut of yarn from previous projects
- A piece of cardboard (optional)
- All purpose glue (optional)
- A bottle. You can use a full one, you can use an empty one. You can empty the bottle as you work Hope you enjoy your pattern.
