I wear this triangle in front – as a scarf. And triangle in back, it has become my go-to shawl for around my shoulders (home or away) as it is the perfect size (not too big) and it stays in place. This shape of shawl can also be tied around the waist.

This shawl uses the sedge stitch. It can be made with one or two skeins of a luxury yarn (about 400 yards). I used two skeins of Buffalo Wool Company 2wo Sexy but any fingering weight will work.

As it is a bottom-up construction, it can also be made as large as you like.

You could also use a heavier or lighter weight yarn, just adjust your hook size. Again, because it is bottom-up, just keep going until you have the size you want.

Finished size is about 49” wide and 24” tall.

Pre-blocking Gauge: 6 ‘sedges’ is 4” wide

I blocked moderately but if you wanted to open it up for a lacier look, you could block aggressively.
