Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The Sedgewick Dishcloth and Coaster Set features two simple crochet patterns using the sedge stitch. This stitch creates a cute, textured fabric that works perfectly for a coaster and dishcloth! These are super quick to make and practical in your home/kitchen, and are a great way to add long lasting, quality products to your home! You can pop them in the washer and dryer and they will last for years!

Size:

These patterns make a coaster that is approx. 4.5 x 4.5 inches (11.5 x 11.5 cm) and a dishcloth that is approx. 7.5 x 7.5 inches (19 x 19 cm). To make a larger/smaller item, cast on more/less stitches in multiples of 3, and alter # of rows to match.

Needles required:

5 mm crochet hook (US H/8)
may need other size hook to meet gauge

Gauge:

Note: Gauge is not super important for this design, as the sizing of the finished items does not need to be exact. I recommend using a hook that will get you fairly close to this gauge, but you can also add extra sts/rows to alter the size.

Gauge swatch should be in sedge stitch pattern, and blocked (steam blocked ideally)

3.75” x 3.75” (9.5 x 9.5 cm) = 15 sts x 11 rows (this is 5 “puffs” wide)

Yarn required: any worsted weight cotton yarn ( I used KnitPicks Dishie yarn, 190 yds per 100 g)

Yardage required:

~15 yards (coaster) / 45 yards (dishcloth)
